We will have skill test on plurals on Tuesday. Students must be able to identify which is the correct form of a plural word and also be able to correctly write plural words. Use back of worksheet done in class and workbook page 35 & 73 to study. Six plural rules are as follows:
- Just add s
- Add es to words that end in s, ss, sh, ch, x
- Consonant y words - - - change y to i then add es
- If word ends in f or fe - - - change to v then add es
- Some words stay the same for plural form
- Some words make an entirely new word
Tuesday:
No homework in LA/Reading.
Wednesday:
Singular and Plurals sheet. Use this to study rules. Students with low scores on Plurals quiz will be retaking the quiz on Friday. This is the opportunity to raise grade.
Thursday:
Reading Minutes due on Sept 30. Students must read AT LEAST 20 minutes for AT LEAST 5 days. Parent initials/signature required to verify minutes.
Retest on plurals tomorrow!!!! Learn the rules above. Last night's homework is being sent home graded so that students can see their errors and discover what mistakes they are making.
